Overview

   We are currently working with a leading Utilities based company based in the West Yorkshire region, currently seeking to recruit an Analyst to play an important part in an on going project, for a period of 6 months.


Main Duties

 You will join a busy team, with the purpose of producing and developing models for forecasting future demand, and also price control, within the Regulated business. 


Specific duties will include:
  • Producing models detailing future demand from first principles
  • Reviewing existing models for future demand and forecast costs benchmarking
  • Testing the existing models that are in place, identifying any areas needing development
  • Providing forecasts and outputs in the agreed formats and to timescales
  • Document all work undertaken on the models, ensuring future models are sustainable
  • Benchmarking of forecast costs
  • Use of panel data models for scenario analysis
  • Assessing proposals from the industry regulator regarding costs and benchmarking
  • Provide advice and recommendations to the business with regards to benchmarking analysis
  • Ad hoc analysis and benchmarking in relation to all Regulatory matters


Key Skills

To succeed in the role, you must have an educational background within Econometrics or Economics, with strong working knowledge of panel data analysis.


You must have a good understanding of parametric techniques (OLS) and ideally, but not essentially non-parametric techniques.

Excellent Excel skills are a must, including the ability to work with mass data, and any experience gained working within a Regulatory environment / Regulated business would be an advantage. 

Salaries for the role will be negotiable depending on your level and experience, and as mentioned above, the role will be for 6 months.
