Overview
A successful and expanding independent accountancy practice with offices in Washington is seeking an Audit Manager to join an established team and take a lead in the provision and organisation of Audit and general practice services.Main Duties
As Audit Manager you will be expected to take a lead in:
- Managing audit assignments including group audits
- Reviewing audit planning including agreement of client budgets/ timetables
- Management of a portfolio of clients
- External auditing of client accounts
- Management, training and mentoring of a team of staff
- Preparation of client statutory accounts
- Preparation of Corporation and VAT returns
- Providing support to the partners
- Taking an innovative and consultative approach to work within the firm
This dynamic firm of accountants has a broad range of clients across a diverse range of sectors including: manufacturing, agriculture, retail, service and charities. Turnovers range from hundreds of thousands of pounds up to tens of millions of pounds.
Key Skills
In order to be considered for the role of Audit Manager you will need to have:
- A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ ACCA/ ATT/ other CCAB) or qualified-by-experience
- Managerial or supervisory experience
- Strong experience of managing workloads and meeting deadlines
- Experience of Auditing clients in the SME sector
- Statutory accounts preparation experience
- A good grounding in Corporate Tax and VAT
- A flexible and ambitious attitude
