We are currently representing an experienced Purchase Ledger Manager, currently seeking a  new role in the Yorkshire region, after the role they were fulfilling was relocated to another part of the UK, unfortunately resulting in their redundancy.

This does however leave them immediately available and flexible for interviews.

Systems worked on include SAP, Sage Line 50 and bespoke in house systems. 


Responsibilities/ Achievements:

This candidate has had a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Responsiblility for teams of up to 8 clerks
  • Overseeing the acquisition and integration of two new companies into the Group PL function 
  • Production of Board level reports, such as supplier trends and spend, vehicle costings breakdowns, divisional costs and capital expenditure
  • Production of rolling cash forecasts (based upon aged creditors and internal and external threats) 
  • Regular reporting and review of aged creditors, reporting any movements to the board and dealing with as required
  • Deal with any final demands, court paperwork etc as required
  • Direct and Indirect costs reporting
  • Divisional Purchase Ledger accruals
  • Reconcile cashbook and post PL and nominal payments
  • Review and authorise all payment runs, both Bacs and manual
  • Reconcile Intercompany Ledgers
  • Responsible for all PL Month End procedures including reviews of all statement reconciliations and plan for follow up etc where required
  • Submitting monthly CIS returns, ensuring the payments were checked and made correctly in accordance with CIS rules
  • Regular reviews of PL procedures and controls, introducing change and improvement where required
  • Staff training and development plans, regular one to ones and team meetings, staff appraisals
  • Analysing of costs
